BIOGRAPHY

A climactic image of Michael Jacoby.

Michael Jacoby was born on January 4, 1992 in Camden, New Jersey, and was primarily raised and currently lives in Riverside, N.J., a small suburb about half an hour's train ride from Philadelphia.

From 2001 to 2006, Jacoby attended Animation Arts where he learned the process of traditional animation, a childhood interest of his, along with drawing.

In the autumn of the latter year, he became the first ever student from Riverside to attend Burlington County Institute of Technology (BCIT), Medford Campus for high school (as opposed to the much farther Westampton campus that students from Riverside go to), majoring in Computer Science.

After graduating from BCIT in June 2010, Jacoby started attending Burlington County College (BCC, now Rowan College at Burlington County) that September. He graduated BCC in May 2012 with an Associate's degree in Liberal Arts.

In the September of that year, he started his time at Rutgers University, Camden Campus. From January 2013 to April 2015, he was part of the Federal Work Study program, doing paid jobs for mainly the Fine Arts Department.

Jacoby joined the school newspaper, The Gleaner, in February 2014, working as the layout editor until April 2015. That May, he graduated Rutgers-Camden with a Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design.

Jacoby later created the website DoorJam Creations, published October 1, 2016, to show off his design work and other material. He created the name from trying to find something to go with the word jam, based upon the initials of his full name (Michael Anthony Jacoby).

Areas of design he's interested in include layout, typography, web design, collateral, logo design, posters, and television identifications. Additional interests include drawing, illustration, writing, storytelling, and traditional animation.
