After finally getting around to creating a portfolio website, I figured I should first create a name and logo. When the former was done, the latter had to be completed.
I wanted a logo that was simple and minimalist, like the long-lasting logos of Saul Bass. I also wanted something rather frightening, having been inspired by YouTube collections of scary logos.
To achieve that, I turned to the infamously eerie Mannerist art style, particularly Jacopo da Pontormo's The Deposition from the Cross (1525-8).
As a closing personal note, it's rather difficult to create a logo or design for yourself (as the client) without having the final product look too esoteric, repulsive, or uninteresting.
