For my Communication Designs I class in Fall 2014 at Rutgers-Camden, we had to pick a news article and reproduce it in two ways: as a straightforward remake for one type of medium and as a totally different version, with a possible hint of bias. The article I ended up selected was a brief news article from September about the ten-upcoming Scotland independence vote from the “Burlington County Times.”

For my Communication Designs I class in Fall 2014 at Rutgers-Camden, we had to pick a news article and reproduce it in two ways: as a straightforward remake for one type of medium and as a totally different version, with a possible hint of bias. The first version I did was a standard front-page article, being forced to add greeting to fill up the whole space.

The second version was a fiction Scottish nationalist magazine called “The Scoticronichon” who would obviously be in favor of an independent Scotland. The typefaces used in the magazine include Adobe Caslon Pro, Avenue, and Futura to emphasize the freedom idea, in contrast to the use of neutral typefaces in the front page version, like Univers.
