BOOK III
JOEM
Meanwhile, in a different part of the forest, occurring at the same time,
the young warrior Joem was gathering his hunting gear and leaving his
village to hunt deer, fish, and many other game for food and shelter.
He grasped firmly his great spear, with its elongated bamboo pole and
its sharp and lengthy head of flint that can penetrate easily through even
the hardest abdominal wall of the fiercest quarry that roams upon the
great mother, and retrieved his other hunting tools:
A small collection of small, transferable blades of flint that can penetrate
easily through even the hardest abdominal wall of the fiercest quarry that
roams upon the great mother;
A few tomahawks whose handles were constructed by the sturdiest oak trees,
able to withstand the destructive storms made by the wings of Tõndurǔr, son of
Jît and Òchen, and whose lethal blades were born from the great stone flint that can
penetrate easily through even the hardest abdominal wall of the fiercest quarry that
roams upon the great mother;
His mighty sword Bënom, his fingers clenched tightly around its protracted
handle of steel and precious diamonds, with its tall sword blade in the shape
of a lengthy leaf blade and being made from flint that can penetrate easily through
even the hardest abdominal wall of the fiercest quarry that roams upon the
great mother;
Flint is a rather sharp kind of stone, a kind of quartz. The stone, which can penetrate
easily through even the hardest abdominal wall of the fiercest quarry that roams
upon the great mother, can be found in quarries, riverbanks, and even beaches.
I admit I don’t go out to beaches that often; it gets very hot out and I don’t feel
like spending a lot of money on gas, although the nearest beach is about a
half-hour drive from my town.
