Like Herrings and Onions #5 - “Life With Bonnie”

This was the first ever DJC webcomic with original cover artwork, as well as the first LHAO issue with more than one page. It also marks the debut of Helen's mother, 29-year-old Bonnie Ethanson.

The backgrounds in this one are mainly luridly colored gradients to add visual flavor to the issue (and to save me from drawing a heavy amount of extra detail found in the setting, the Ethanson house). Bonnie's extreme difficulty in trying to form a sentence is inspired from my own mother's exertion most of the time to talk. While I find mom's inability to talk properly EXTREMELY frustrating, I would never do what Helen does here.
