Daniel the Tourette's Engine is saddened by the constant belittling by Gary and David, all happening in their Escherian shed.

I had trouble finding a good title for this story, based upon the Thomas story "A Proud Day for James." I used a similar title for the previous story. After doing some research, I found the original Thomas story, "James and the Express," was only called that title in the UK and we North Americans got the title "A Proud Day for James." Hence, the title for this story.

I feel that the drawing of the engines in the shed is quite unintentionally Escherian, with contradictory and impossible angles of things, mainly on Gary and Henry and the rails. The lighting on the big engines' faces also could've been better. The shading, however, is pretty convincing.

The description of the story on the main Derek page has a typo of "reaches its toll engine." It's redundant and a mistake, and I only kept it in because I thought it was funny.
